Youth Outreach Clinic Rider Information
Rider Criteria
Age: Riders must be 10-21 years of age.
Membership: Riders must be current USDF Participating or Group Members.
Application and Video: Riders must submit an online application and riding video on or before the deadline. The video must show the applicant riding a complete dressage test at the level they are currently schooling, on the specific horse he or she applied with. A regulation dressage arena is not necessary; any arena regardless of size is acceptable. Videos should be recorded from the end of the arena at A or C and the rider must not be too far away from the camera. If the selection committee cannot clearly see the horse and rider, the video will not be accepted. Do not submit a cell phone video.
Please read the Youth Outreach Clinic Information for detailed information.
Applications submitted after the published deadline will not be accepted. USDF is not responsible for late or misdirected mail, faxes, or email.
Rider Fee
Rider registration is $200.
Applicants must submit their applications through the online form. If selected to ride in the clinic, you will be notified via email and the $200 registration fee will be due within 48 hours of notification.
Format and Schedule
Each of these clinics will be held over two days, and will include a variety of instruction. On the first day, the participants in the Youth Outreach Clinic will observe the FEI Youth Clinic riding sessions, sitting together as a group as their clinician leads the discussion for each session. They will also join the riders of the FEI Youth Clinic during Saturday lunch and on Saturday evening, where they can participate in the lecture and interactive discussion with the clinician of the FEI Youth Clinic. On the second day, each Youth Outreach Clinic participant will ride in a 45-minute session with their clinician. Clinic hours are generally 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Cancellations and Refunds
Riders who must cancel after selections have been made will receive a refund, minus a $25 processing fee, only if a replacement rider can be found by USDF. If no replacement is available, the rider will not receive a refund. If a rider must cancel due to medical or veterinary reasons, he or she may receive a refund, minus the $25 processing fee, if USDF is notified in writing, including a veterinarian or physician statement.
